Trail Description With over 10,000 acres and miles of designated trails ranging from easy to strenuous, Dupont State Forest offers scenic adventures whether youre hiking, mountain biking, or riding your horses. Picnic areas close to majestic waterfalls, mountain lakes, and scenic vistas with convenient tie outs for horses.

Campground Blue Bird Cabin has room for 4 people and is a cozy "home base" across from Dupont State Forest for relaxing and reflecting on the day's activities in the Western NC Mountains. The 2 bedrooms/1 bath oak & spruce log home is furnished with comfortable queen beds including linens and towels, a fully equipped kitchen, dining area, and living room with a native stone fireplace. Wifi, washer/dryer, satellite TV provided. Gas grill on wrap around covered porch/deck. Owner operated 12x12 stalls are available within walking distance. Trail maps and local information provided.
